SCOPE:

Designed as both an owner's penthouse getaway and a working showcase model to court premier international 5-star hotel operators across Japan, this multi-level property features a 5th-floor penthouse and five entourage suites for accompanying staff. Working closely as a design advisor to the developer, LBA provided ongoing interior guidance—evaluating architectural layouts, kitchen concepts, custom lighting specifications like the primary dining pendant, and consulting on Japanese artisan selections including the focal antique chest, as well as the proportion, tone, and suitability of natural live-edge wood slabs for the dining table.

Navigating complex international logistics and consolidation, LBA curated and coordinated furnishings across both the US and Japan. Custom US-fabricated lounge seating, bespoke living area rugs, and hand-selected luxury accessories—including specialized European umbrellas and US-consolidated outdoor terrace furnishings—were seamlessly integrated alongside Japanese-crafted sectionals and dining pieces to deliver an effortless, world-class alpine retreat.
